Carmi Swift's entrepreneurial journey began with Home Connections of Greater Kansas City, where she built a successful Audio/Visual business. Through this experience, she discovered the universal challenge facing service professionals: the administrative burden that steals precious time from core work and family life.
The inspiration for her next venture came from an unexpected source—watching her pet's veterinarian struggle with overwhelming paperwork. Recognizing the same frustration she had experienced in her own business, Carmi saw an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the veterinary field.
Partnering with her son Brooks, who had already proven his software development expertise with iPoint LLC in the A/V industry, Carmi proposed creating a solution specifically for integrative animal practitioners. "We had successfully created a product for the AV industry already—and I knew we could do the same thing here," she explains.
In 2014, iPoint Touch entered research and beta testing, launching its first version in 2015 to enthusiastic reception from veterinary professionals. The positive response fueled Carmi's determination to expand the platform's capabilities. Under her guidance, the company developed specialized modules, including chiropractic and TCVM acupuncture functionality (released in 2019), and continues to develop modules for Equine Dental, CranioSacral, and Massage Therapy.
Carmi's vision extends beyond software development. She believes in empowering the entire veterinary community through education and mentorship. iPoint Touch now offers a comprehensive library of webinars and educational content, sharing entrepreneurial strategies and business knowledge with practitioners.
"I want to truly make a difference for the practitioners and the animals they serve," Carmi states. "Being an entrepreneur is a learned skill, and the learning never stops. I am happy to share what I know and what I'm learning so we can all thrive."
